Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
- Permanent part time role working 6 hours per week - Monday to Friday
- Located in Point Chevalier
We are the progressive national leader in the provision of recovery focussed inpatient rehabilitation for people experiencing severe mental illness. Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre is a 40 bed specialist inpatient service available to people aged between 18 and 65 years, however most people are aged under 30 with a significant number aged under 25.
We provide a programme of both group and individual interactions based on stages of rehabilitation to support individual recovery. We strive toward assisting and supporting people to enhance their coping strategies and self-determination.
Our staff group includes mental health nurses, support workers, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and an excellent support team. We will warmly welcome your specialist GP skills to complement our specialist mental health skills. You would also join a close knit group of Doctors.
This role involves running regular GP clinics within the service, admission, physical assessments, metabolic monitoring, family planning, liaising with other specialists and diabetes management.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
You will be vocationally registered as a GP with the Medical Council of NZ with a current annual practising certificate. As it is community based, it's essential that you have a full and clean NZ driver's licence.
