Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
- Permanent full time 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday
- Located in Point Chevalier
We are the progressive national leader in the provision of recovery focussed inpatient rehabilitation for people experiencing severe mental illness. Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre is a 40 bed specialist inpatient service available to people aged between 18 and 65 years, however most people are aged under 30 with a significant number aged under 25.
We provide a programme of both group and individual interactions based on stages of rehabilitation to support individual recovery. We strive toward assisting and supporting people to enhance their coping strategies and self-determination.
This is a great opportunity to join our small dedicated team of therapists, offering a range of individual and group interventions. In this role, you will apply your occupational therapy expertise in collaboration with service users and the MDT to promote recovery through a structured, safe and flexible programme.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
Our ideal candidate will be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ (with no condition on scope of practice) and hold a current valid APC. As it is community based, it's essential that you have a full and clean NZ driver's licence.
This is an area of work that requires a highly proactive and enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills to meet the challenges and opportunities of the practice setting. You will have sound occupation-centred philosophy, commitment to team work, excellent organisational capability and an ability to demonstrate a high level of time management and organisational skills.
