The ward team is responsible for the care of sick newborns and includes the Special Care Nursery, as well as the general Paediatric Ward.
We are expanding our
service and team by opening a new Neonatal Nursery and transitional care beds where
neonates can stay with their mother so we can keep mothers and babies together
and closer to home. We are looking for
Registered Nurses with an interest or passion in working with children and
infants to become part of the team here in Timaru, there will be opportunities
to develop skills in paediatric nursing and the grow those skills into neonatal
nursing You-ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role, where there is
never a dull moment or a day that looks like another! We provide care for children
from new born to teenager, medical and surgical.
Ideally, you will have relevant paediatric and/or neonatal nursing experience. However, if you have an interest or passion for working to support children and their families/whanau that require specialised Nursing care, consider applying too. Support and education provided by senior team members.
In Summary, you should have:
Relevant post graduate experience preferably within Paediatrics or a genuine interest in working in this area
Flexibility and experience to work in other wards if required
Registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council along with a current Annual Practising Certificate
Genuine
passion (and fortitude) for working with unwell children
