We are looking for a new Technical Leader in the Intelligence Directorate to lead a team of talented technical analysts.
You will be a motivated people leader with technical expertise, the ability to lead and empower a team of analysts enabling them to deliver new capabilities and advanced data analysis in support of our intelligence mission. Other responsibilities include the coordination of the Intelligence Directorate's operational response to urgent or complex customer needs, ensuring the ongoing security and wellbeing of New Zealand. This team provides ongoing capability development and analytic support while pivoting to meet operational demands.
Shape the unit's long-term strategy, design data-driven solutions, and provide both technical and personal guidance to your staff. Bring expertise to identify, design and lead projects that use unique datasets from a variety of sources and rapidly deliver new capabilities.
The team needs to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to develop this mission, and these relationships are essential to identify opportunities while ensuring we meet customer demands.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
