Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
Clinical Director - Auckland Regional Dental Service (ARDS)
- Fantastic leadership opportunity
- Exciting time of growth and innovation
- Beautiful City of Sails
The Auckland Regional Dental Service (ARDS) provides oral health services to approximately 285,000 preschool and school aged children, up to and including school year eight students living across metropolitan Auckland. The service is operated by Waitematā DHB and is committed to improving oral health outcomes across the region.
Following challenges to service delivery during the Covid-19 pandemic, ARDS is moving into an exciting phase of developing and implementing strategies that address equity of outcome differentials. Promoting the delivery of a safe, effective and efficient service with the child and whanau at the centre will be key.
With this in mind, we are seeking applications from dentists who:
- Understand Te Tiriti and improving oral health outcome for Māori tamariki
- Are passionate about driving innovative improvements in the model of care, and service performance
- Understand the benefits of empowering teams to achieve results.
As Clinical Director you would be responsible for leading clinical governance for the service in partnerships with the Professional Clinical Leader and the Operations Manager.
The clinical work for this position will involve participation in our dental clinics including the Saturday on call roster.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced dentist with clinical experience within a public health setting, and have an understanding of population health principles, along with proven leadership experience. You will also be a strong advocate for children’s oral health.
Ideally you will have excellent communication skills.
Candidates are required to be registered (or registerable) with the Dental Council of New Zealand, with a relevant post graduate qualification. If you are from overseas or outside Auckland, Waitematā DHB’s candidate care team will help with the logistics of immigration and relocation, to make your move as smooth as possible.
