The details: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Quality & Patient Safety have an exciting opportunity for the right person to work as a Clinical Risk Lead. We are looking for value to be added in a dynamic way to help place risk management at the centre of the organisation and key strategic decision making.
You will be part of a small Risk Team, you will be supported and work alongside the clinical effectiveness team, consumer engagement team and the infection prevention control team. You will work in partnership with the Quality & Patient Safety Business Partners.
In this role you will:
• Drive and support the application of risk management principles and practice by advising and supporting directorates on clinical risk management.
• Encourage wider thinking and solution finding by raising the right questions and challenging existing assumptions within the organisation.
• Assisting in developing a risk conscious culture across all business functions, where risks are proactively identified and addressed.
• Deliver education in risk management and serious adverse events.
• Review clinical incidents through the risk management system (Datix) analyse and identify areas of risk and weakness.
• Undertake Serious Event Reviews
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:
• Be a dynamic, self-motivated with a sound knowledge of risk management principles & related practices and procedures.
• Results in an environment of ongoing organisational change, to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
• Knowledge and experience of working within risk management systems.
• Well- developed communication skills both written and verbal, including sound experience in the preparation of reports, briefs, Excel spreadsheets and education materials, with a high attention to detail.
• Have a degree in the medical field, Nursing, Doctor, Physio, Occupational health or other medical science field.
• Have 3-5 years working within a risk management team or role
