Hāpai Hapori has an important role in working alongside Māori to achieve their aspirations and the National Funds Te Ao Māori team supports and strengthens this significant mahi.
We are looking for somebody with enthusiasm and drive to join our National Funds - Te Ao Māori team. You will have a primary focus on progressing Oranga Marae, Mātauranga Māori Marae Ora and Pukenga Wai funding, there will also be opportunities to contribute to hapū led development and the strengthened equity kaupapa. Ideally, you will have experience in leading streams of work, lots of initiative, be someone who learns quickly and who will not require a lot of direction. Accuracy and attention to detail is also critical in this team.

- System skills and understanding of an end-to-end process including monitoring and reporting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
Key tasks include:
- Coordination of Oranga Marae
- Working with Te Puni Kōkiri team and Oranga Marae Management Team
- Managing the grants process including - processing, monitoring, reporting, advisory and liaison with local and regional advisors
- Providing secretariat support to funding decision making committees
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships within DIA and with key partners and stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to initiatives
- Supporting communications and flow of funding information
- Supporting practice development and Learning and Development for Oranga Marae and Hapū Led Development
- Facilitating key working groups as required
- Management of the Oranga Marae and Te Puni Kōkiri shared workspace
