Nurse Lead, (Full-Time, Fixed-Term), Acute Mental Health, CM Health at Counties Manukau District Health Board (South Auckland), Auckland

Nursing Leadership Opportunity in Adult Acute Mental Health – Two Year fixed term.

This is a great Nursing leadership opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge and to be a part of shaping best contemporary practice and growing our acute nursing workforce. We want tangata whaiora in our community with mental health and addiction needs to live longer, healthier lives. We believe that by working together we can improve access to a range of services and supports, be better able to care for people when they are acutely unwell and support people to recovery and wellbeing working in partnership encouraging autonomy and choice.

As a Nurse Lead for Adult Acute Services, you will work closely with the clinical head, service manager and other clinical leaders to support and develop best practice and quality services.  You will provide clinical leadership and work within programs of work spanning adult acute mental health services (Tiaho Mai, Tamaki Oranga, Intake and Acute Assessment and Home Based Treatment).

This position will also offer you an opportunity to stretch into new practice areas, participate in strategic leadership and service development and be at the leading edge of mental health care delivery.  Our recently opened adult acute inpatient unit is yet to reach its full potential and you will have the opportunity to work with different cultural leaders and occupational groups to plan new and creative programs of service enhancement.

We want a Nurse Lead who is up for the challenge, can demonstrate initiative, has strong clinical practice, great communication skills, teamwork and leadership to provide quality services for tangata whaiora and whanau receiving care in our diverse and rich Counties Manukau region.

 

Essential:

  • Current NZ Nursing Annual Practising Certificate with scope to work in Mental Health.
  • Master’s degree – or working towards completion of a masters level qualification – with focus on nursing leadership
  • Advanced clinical skills
  • Demonstrated ability in programme development, project management strategic planning and policy development.
