Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Come join our amazing midwifery team at Te Toka Tumai, we embrace change, are not afraid to challenge our status quo.  We are looking for a midwife to pick up the rākau for  The Maternity Quality and Safety Programme (MQSP)  at Te Toka Tumai.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced midwife who is committed to improving outcomes for all and will not accept health inequities but will drive change to ensure they do not occur. 

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate and support the Maternity Quality and Safety Programme (MQSP) by  overseeing and  supporting others to manage MQSP initiatives
  • Liaise with stakeholder groups, including consumers to enable quality improvements throughout the maternity services.
  • Provide professional leadership and management of projects through evidence-based approach
  • Implement and maintain a monitoring and audit process for agreed initiatives supporting the safety and quality of clinical care

 

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role , we are looking for the following: 

  • Post graduate  Graduate qualification in midwifery, public health, Māori health or other or working towards same
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for healthcare service provision
  • A minimum of 5 years midwifery practice and a clear understanding of practice within the hospital setting and the community
  • Knowledge of quality improvement systems and processes
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance systemswithin a health care environment
