The Team: What we do
Tuarangi Home is a 37 bed Residential Care facility that provides hospital level and dementia care at both rest home and hospital levels. We are a skilled and dedicated workforce, working within the dementia and hospital units to provide quality care in a friendly environment. We believe that dignity of all individuals is paramount, and at Tuarangi we diligently maintain an atmosphere of empathy, non-judgemental and respectful care.
We have multiple fixed term full and part-time positions available, some flexibility with ours is required.
The Role: Where you fit in
Your primary objective in this position is to assist in providing a personalised quality Activity Service for patients by planning, facilitating, leading and supporting members in diversional activities, e.g. craft work, games, social interaction within groups.
You-ll be working alongside a registered Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist or Charge Nurse Manager.
Essential
Qualifications, Knowledge, and skills;
- Experience as an Activities Officer or Diversional Therapist or previous experience working in older persons health.
- Preferably have had work experience within the Health Service.
- Experience older persons health including Dementia.
Desirable;
- A current drivers licence
