Antenatal Clinic Midwife at Hawke's Bay District Health Board (Hastings/Napier), Hawkes Bay

Fixed term 18 July 2022 to 19 March 2023

40 Hours per fortnight (0.5FTE)

 

A rare and exciting opportunity has presented for a Midwife to join our Te Kakano Antenatal Clinic team in maternity services.

 

The Antenatal Clinic Midwife is a vital member of our outpatient team supporting safe, effective, culturally responsive midwifery care to women and whanau accessing Te Kakano Antenatal clinic

 

Hawke's Bay Maternity is recognised nationally as providing innovative programs to improve maternal and infant health and wellbeing. In addition to our main secondary care birthing facility, we are the only DHB in New Zealand with a co-located Primary Birthing Unit.  Last year 700 women benefited from our purpose-built contemporary home away from home facilities. With this incredible facility we are able to actively support and encourage women to birth naturally.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A strong equity and quality focus for improving our outpatient services for women and whanau

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with women and families as well as other health professionals
  • Passion for helping woman, whanau and colleagues
  • A can-do attitude
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy environment with competing demands
  • Willingness to work hard
  • This is a job-share position with each midwife working 0.5 FTE each.

 

The ideal candidate would have a degree of flexibility and the ability to support planned and unplanned leave.

 

The successful candidate would be multi-jobbed as a Staff Midwife 0.1 - 0.5 FTE work a minimum of 0.6 FTE across both positions.
