About the role:
The Manager, Information and Education is a leadership position that reports to the Director, Information & Education in MBIE’s Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery group.
In this role you’ll responsible for leading and empowering a team to help build the knowledge, skills and attitudes people and businesses need to do the right thing in our regulatory contexts.
You’ll primarily lead our employment and residential tenancy information and education programmes, finding innovative, inclusive ways to engage with external audiences. We’ve got some big initiatives on the horizon, so now’s a great time to join us.
You’ll be expected to connect across our portfolio and externally to achieve an integrated approach to our public information programme. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across the regulatory systems we support.
You’ll bring knowledge, or at least a demonstratable commitment to improving knowledge, of tikanga, te reo and te ao Māori world view. In this role you’ll have an awesome opportunity to play a visible leadership role integrating a Group-wide Partnership with Māori strategy into the I&E programme.

Skills and experience required:
- An experienced people leader who can motivate and bring teams together to deliver measurable outcomes.
- A strategic thinker who is able to make the connect across various aspects of the organisation.
- Extensive and proven experience in providing marketing and communication support within or across regulatory systems.
- Experience in designing information and education strategies and programmes for a diverse audience.
- Ability to lead through change.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an environment focused on continuous improvement to enhance organisational performance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement with an ability to quickly establish and build strong trust and credibility with senior managers.
- A tertiary qualification in related discipline.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
