Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
Our Investment Management and Asset Performance Team is the kaitiaki of New Zealand's Public Service Investment System - ensuring it delivers value and intergenerational wellbeing through:
- Enabling well-informed investment decisions.
- Ensuring the system is efficient, effective and sustainable.
- Enabling those with accountabilities across the system to perform their roles effectively.
In this role we're looking for an enthusiastic and talented professional to join us and play a key role developing one of the foundation stones in the Investment Management System. This role will develop quarterly investment reporting and integrate analytics from that reporting into impactful Ministerial advice.
Ō pūmanawa | About You
You will have previous data and reporting experience, preferably in the New Zealand public sector context and be able to integrate analytics into impactful Ministerial advice. The investment management system is dynamic and can be fast paced at times; you will need to be flexible and be able to work under pressure to deliver quality advice. Specific technical expertise you will bring include:
- Five years' experience; preferably with experience in data collection, analysis and integration of analytics into impactful advice.
- Well-developed numerical literacy, critical thinking, data manipulation and analytical skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Tableau or other data visualisation software.
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to translate analysis into outputs which are easily interpreted by a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of the New Zealand public sector and the investment management system, including the budget process (desirable but not essential).
