Covid Response Technical Advisor Medical/Clinical at Waikato District Health Board (Hamilton), Waikato

Where you’ll be working: Public Health Unit, Waiora CBD, 87 Alexandra Street, Hamilton

The details: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, up to 80hrs p/ fortnight

About the role:

We are looking for a COVID Response Technical Advisor Medical/Clinical to advise, support and address the Waikato PHU COVID response.

 

What we need from you:

Qualifications

• Medical qualification, MBChB or equivalent OR

• Nursing qualification, Nursing registration and current Annual practicing certificate

• Master of Public Health or equivalent (desirable, or studying towards), OR

• Relevant Registration and current Annual Practice Certificate

• Appropriate and current tertiary and professional qualification or experience in Health Protection, Emergency Management, and/or Quality Systems relevant to COVID-19

• Experience in Public Health roles and projects, emergency/pandemic events

• Full Driver’s license

 

Desirable

• Proven experience in a public health environment Project management experience, co-ordination, delivery and leadership

• Ability to utilise public health, informatics tools and databases to support public health practice including MS Excel, Episurv, National Contact Tracing Solution (NCTS)

• Ability to think strategically and analytically

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Possess an understanding of public health service delivery with knowledge of the social, cultural and economic determinants of health and their effect on the health status of populations

• Epidemiological knowledge including study design and statistical analysis requirements specific to the type of data being analysed.

• Understanding of the New Zealand Public Health System, The Treaty of Waitangi, Tikanga and Te Reo Maaori
