Within the haematology unit there is a well-established thrombosis unit and hemophilia treatment centre. This unit has two specialised haematologists and four dedicated nurse specialists. There is a clinical trials programme within both the thrombosis and haemophilia services. The Auckland Hospital laboratory provides an extensive range of tests linked to thrombosis and particularly haemophilia diagnostics.
