About the role:
The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with and through agencies to develop their digital maturity in assurance over digital investments, including assurance for payroll implementations. Their insight will help stakeholders to make informed decisions on complex and emerging issues while maintaining a clear focus on their desired strategic outcomes.
Acting as a trusted advisor, you will support system-wide digital and ICT implementation and operational assurance and risk management. You-ll be developing guidance, lifting general assurance capability across the system, and pursuing engagement opportunities with key stakeholders. A critical part of this role is to provide oversight of assurance for payroll implementations. Your work will help lift the overall assurance maturity of agencies to enable them to understand their obligation and help provide overall confidence to key stakeholders on critical digital transformation projects. As an Assurance Consultant, you will be able to help others positively adapt to changes and demands in a dynamic digital environment.
You will be strongly supported in an environment that values continuous improvement and fosters a culture of encouraging -big picture- thinking to help our people connect and build better results for New Zealand through a unified public service.
What will you bring to the role?
- You will bring an inclusive style to your work with the confidence to build strategic partnerships with agencies to deliver practical solutions to achieve common goals.
- You will use your expertise to navigate complex situations with ease and facilitate the provision of strategic and high-quality advice.
- You-ll have a keen ability to understand and assess levels of risk and develop advice to mitigate risk or escalate where needed.
- You-ll identify trends and emerging issues relevant to industry practices and standards, and leverage those to build future capability across the sector.
- As a skilled relationship manager, you-ll provide influential and fit-for-purpose advice to stakeholders which support the strategic direction of assurance-related matters. You will work with a range of stakeholders, and so should have a demonstrated ability to influence and inform others.
- The role will require an ability to engage across a broad range of digital initiatives, including but not limited to a focus on payroll projects, so relevant experience in payroll assurance is essential.
- We are committed to increasing our cultural confidence as an organisation so proficiency in Te Reo Māori would also be incredibly valuable.
What we offer:
- Exposure across government agencies with value-driven, interesting work
- The on-going support of teams within the branch to encourage diversity of thought and challenge the status quo and knowledge sharing
- A range of benefits including access to discounted healthcare, subsided school holiday programmes, allowance for vision and hearing care, with a variety of social committee and networks available
We offer a culture where our people are committed to creating a working environment that is inclusive and encourages talent and potential to thrive. We strongly believe in work life balance and this is practiced with a range of flexible work options and wellbeing initiatives - just talk to us about what works for you.
