Senior Research Advisor (Full Time), Ko Awatea Research & Evaluation Office, CM Health at Counties Manukau District Health Board (South Auckland), Auckland

Ko Awatea is our centre for health system innovation and improvement, supported by experts within the health system. We work with organisations and teams to design and deliver research projects, improvement programmes, build capability and provide knowledge, evaluation, research governance and research support to senior leaders, clinical leads, frontline teams, and colleagues locally and nationally.

We are looking to recruit a talented senior research advisor to operationalize research service related aims. The Senior Research Advisor will focus on: building internal capability (education, workshops, advice and guidance); delivery of research projects (where applicable); research governance; creating innovative approaches to providing support to researchers and communications; and ensuring that communications are understood and resources are utilised adequately and appropriately. Building relationships and working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders will be fundamental to your success in shaping and implementing our strategic direction. You are someone who can bring experience in a range of research and approaches and methodologies to the table. The Senior Research Advisor will focus equally on building internal capability, education, workshops, providing advice, and actual delivery of projects (where applicable). Additionally, the Senior Research advisor will provide leadership to less experienced staff and work closely with Locality Coordinator, Locality Administrator, Grants Coordinator and Maaori Research Advisor.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday. The position will take a key role in the Ko Awatea Research and Evaluation Office, based at Middlemore Hospital, assisting in delivery of the Research and Evaluation portfolio.

You will have a post-graduate qualification in health, science or other relevant field coupled with at least five (05) years applied experience in research, data analysis and/or evaluation. It is essential that you can demonstrate: experience in analysing quantitative and qualitative health data; understanding of various study designs and protocols; and familiarity with New Zealand and International Health Research guidelines. Experience in advising or similar role will be desirable but not essential.
