Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This is an interesting and challenging role that provides an opportunity to make a real difference to the success of our transport network across New Zealand.
The purpose of this role is to independently lead audits and coordinate groups of people required to perform audits to provide assurance over approved organisations (including local authorities, state highways and partner agencies that are funded through the National Land Transport Fund).
A key part of this position is to promote leading practice and to provide organisations with professional advice to enable them to ensure their processes and practices meet relevant standards and Waka Kotahi requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a field relevant to the position in the transport or related sector
- Your demonstrated robust knowledge and application of engineering principles to transport infrastructure and networks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proven ability to clearly communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences and a high-level of presentation, negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Analytical skills with proven ability to analyse multiple sources of data to draw evidence-based conclusions
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
