Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs)
Want to be able to be the amazing LMC
midwife you are without all the other background stuff that gets in the way.
Then read on, as this is what working at Aoraki Midwives lets you do.
This exciting and unique
opportunity lets you work as a LMC with the benefits and security of being a
salaried employee (competitive salary, including paid annual, sick and
professional development leave and Kiwi Saver contributions)
Working for Aoraki Midwives, means
you have no setup costs, no business overheads or deductions, no GST or
tax payments to plan for, no worrying about cover when you want to have leave and,
importantly, a guaranteed fortnightly pay. We provide all your work-related
equipment including laptop, iPad, phone etc, and shared work vehicles for
visiting women.
You have two self-rostered days
off each week and - off - means - phones off - (you cover each other when on
days off or on leave). Knowing exactly
when you are going to have time off will help you enjoy a healthy work-life
balance in our friendly and welcoming community.
You will
have a capped caseload of 45 women per
annum (4-5 women each per month) if full
time and pro-rated if less than full time.
Still reading; lastly but very importantly
you will be part of team of passionate and committed midwives who take
pride in making a difference and supporting each other.
Okay if this sounds like your dream job and you can say - yes - to the following, then we really want to talk with you now.
- Commitment to women centred continuity of care from early pregnancy through to six weeks after baby is born, including labour and birth secondary care
- Willingness to learn and or demonstrate understanding of and responsibilities under the principles of the te Tiriti o Waitangi - Treaty of Waitangi
- Self-motivation, able to demonstrate professional standards of practice, able to work well in a team environment and manage your own caseload
- A registered midwife currently holding full registration (ideally with no restrictions or endorsements on your practice) or will be eligible for full registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand.
