Rotational Occupational Therapist (Full Time) Community Health Service, Te Whatu Ora at Counties Manukau District Health Board (South Auckland), Auckland

Our Community Health Services are embarking on an exciting phase of transformational change that includes implementing interdisciplinary and integrated approaches to patient and family care.

 

We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist to join our community health services, mid way through annual advanced rotations. This position enables you the opportunity to move through seven specialist areas including; The Auckland Regional Spinal Unit (ASRU), National Burns Unit (NBU), Community Services, Acute Stroke/Neurological Rehabilitation, Renal Services, Hand Therapy and the Child development team (CDT).

  

The hours for this role are predominantly 8am. until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. However each service has the ability to flex with daily routines as required.

 

Our preferred candidate will be a self-starter, have the ability to problem solve, be an effective communicator, work well in a multidisciplinary team and value the opportunity to practice with patients and families in the home and community settings. Leadership and resilience skills would be beneficial.

Essential:

  • NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate
  • 3-4 years experience as an occupational therapist
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development
  • Excellent inter-professional communication
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of clients
  • Full current NZ driver's license
