- Role: Part time, permanent 0.8FTE, 64 hours per fortnight
Waitematā District, Specimen Services has a part time permanent 0.8FTE (64 hours per fortnight) vacancy available for a hardworking and reliable person. You will be part of a friendly, dynamic and cultural diverse team working in a busy, fast paced environment contributing to the delivery of Waitematā DHB’s promise of “Best care for everyone”
This position is a great opportunity for a person who either has registration (preferred) in or is willing to work towards the Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician’s (MLPAT) qualification.
This position is not suitable for applicants who are Medical Laboratory Science graduates.
You will be required to:
- participate in fully rostered shifts; Monday to Sunday including evening and midnight shifts
- Day shifts: 6:30am – 3pm, 7:30am – 4pm, 8am – 4:30pm
- Evening shifts: 1:30pm – 10pm; 3:15pm – 11:30pm
- Midnight shifts: 11pm – 7am
- work weekdays, weekends and public holidays
- work 64 hours per fortnight at both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital laboratory (predominantly 8 hour shifts with occasional 4-5 hour short shifts
Requirements for this role:
- Medical Sciences (MS) Council of New Zealand registered is preferred or willing to work towards MS Council registration as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician
- NZ residency or citizenship
- Full drivers licence preferred
- Demonstrated recent skill and experience in Specimen Services
- Knowledge of Delphic Explorer / Latte registration is an advantage
