Registered and Enrolled Nurses - Te Whare Manaaki at Canterbury District Health Board (Christchurch), Christchurch

Mō te tūnga | About the role

Te Whare Manaaki is a medium secure forensic unit that forms part of Specialist Mental Health Services and the Regional Forensic Mental Health Service. The Forensic Service is a fulfilling and dynamic environment with opportunities to further your knowledge and expertise.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for professional and highly motivated Registered Nurses to join us in a full time permanent or fixed-term capacity. Add your expertise and enthusiasm to an energetic, dynamic and innovative multi-disciplinary team, case managing individuals to discover and develop their strengths towards optimum health and potential placement into a residential setting.

There are 0.94 FTE permanent and fixed term positions available. There could be some flexibility to consider part time as well, but this will be on a case-by-case basis.

We strive to work within our philosophy to develop therapeutic, supportive and empowering relationships with consumers, to enable them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

  • The positions are based on a roster thus flexibility across all shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) is imperative ' the shifts follow a 4 days on, 2 days off roster pattern (for a full time position).

In order to be successful in this role, the following is required:

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope
  • Previous experience working within any area of mental health
  • Self-motivated, flexible and solutions-focused
  • A current NZ Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
