Segar House – Rauaroha is a specialist outpatient service. Segar house – Rauaroha provides group and individual therapy for adult clients with longstanding and complex mental health challenges.
Segar House – Rauaroha utilises a range of evidenced based treatment models as appropriate for a group of service users with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to PTSD and various personality disorders. Segar House – Rauaroha receives referrals from secondary mental health services for service users that require intensive psychotherapeutic treatment.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This role is a combined clinical psychotherapy role (0.6 FTE -0.8 FTE) and leadership role (0.2 FTE).
The clinical role is as a psychotherapist at Segar House – Rauaroha, a specialist psychotherapy group programme. Segar House- Rauaroha engages whaiora with longstanding and complex mental health challenges in a therapeutic group programme and individual therapy. The programme utilises a range of therapeutic modalities as appropriate for whaiora with a range of diagnoses.
The practice supervisor - psychotherapy role works collaboratively with the professional leader for psychotherapy, supporting and coordinating supervision for a psychotherapists; advocating for and representing the psychotherapy profession in various forums. There is an active role in service development and quality improvement initiatives at both a service and profession-specific level.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As an experienced psychotherapist you will have a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience and be trained in psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and/or Mentalisation.
You will have experience in leadership and be a passionate advocate for psychotherapy. Experience in adult mental health would be of benefit.
You will be registered with the Psychotherapy Board of NZ and hold a current APC
The successful applicant will bring flexibility, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to the team and the leadership role.
You will have understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi and how this applies to your work. You will be committed to reducing health inequity.
