Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team. This role is based within the speciality of acute stroke, neurology and rehabilitation in Taiao Ora/ Ward 51 at Auckland City Hospital and is a permanent, part-time position (20 hours/week):
- Effectively manage a caseload covering acute stroke, neurology and rehabilitation
- Provide patients with valuable Occupational Therapy assessments, interventions and facilitate complex discharge planning
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team, working closely together to ensure best outcomes for our patient care needs
- Meaningful support and orientation to your practice contexts with robust opportunities for critical reflection on practice, including peer review and professional supervision
- Work alongside your wider Allied Health colleagues using an interdisciplinary model to deliver high quality and effective services
- On the job training with continuous improvement and development opportunities including a well-established in-service training programme

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- Have or be eligible for NZ registration as an Occupational Therapist
- 2+ years of post-graduate clinical work experience in a hospital setting, experience in stroke assessment and intervention (advantageous)
- Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A pro-active / can-do approach with the ability to be flexible and work autonomously as well as in a team

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical MECA 2018-2020)
Salary Range: Step 1 $52813.00 to Step 8 $79504.00 (Depending on experience)
