Coordinator - Theatre Support Assistants at Capital & Coast District Health Board (Wellington), Wellington Hospital

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital

Service:   Operating Theatre 

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime, Monday to Friday 

Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role

The team leader role sits within the Perioperative environment and leads the Theatre support team to provide skilled assistance to the multi-disciplinary theatre team. Efficient coordination and resource planning to support patient flow during their Peri-operative journey. 

  • Day to Day management, support and co-ordination of the TSA team
  • Management of rosters, Annual leave and causal employees.
  • To facilitate, organise and evaluate quality Improvement Initiatives 
  • Recruitment and training of new employees.
  • Responsible for the ordering and supply of equipment and consumables. Closely liase with procurement and theatre stores to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.

  • Proven leadership skills, sound clinical judgement and experience working within a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to take ownership accountability and responsibility for the Team Leader Position.
  • Proactive and professional approach with experience in problem solving and reaching desired goals.
  • Excellent Oral and written English and Advanced Knowledge of computer programs.
  • A positive attitude to change and quality improvement and the ability to nurture positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work under stress and respond according to achieve target goals.
