The Specialist Mental Health Services is looking for two people to become Lived
Experience Partners.
- One in the youth space ' providing input to services that are used by people under 25 years of age.
- One in the adult space ' with a focus on forensic and other adult mental health services.
The positions are 0.6 FTE or 24 hours a week, with some flexibility regarding hours/days of the week required
Your primary role is to gather the voice of people who use these services and use your own lived experience to systemically advocate for better outcomes for all.
You will work in partnership with family-whānau, staff and leadership positions to influence change and to provide a person centred approach to service delivery.
You will
- have personal experience of mental distress AND experience accessing mental health services
- be able to develop links to relevant tangata whaiora groups and networks
- be personable and have good communication skills being able to relate well to people experiencing mental distress, their whānau, mental health staff and managers
- be able to work well autonomously and in a team
- develop ideas and projects that encourage people to have a say in mental health services
