Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Advisor position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with and support Iwi / Māori, key stakeholders and communities at a regional and local level to improve outcomes for at-risk children their families and communities.
You will be part of a team supporting whānau / families and communities by pursuing a relational approach to commissioning for wellbeing. This will involve resetting relationships, expectations, and behaviours so that the right people can work together on solutions that support the aspirations of whānau and communities.
The relational approach starts with agreeing to shared goals and outcomes. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to engage with stakeholders and build strong partnerships. You will have the ability to work and lead in a collaborative and innovative way in cross-agency settings, build relationships and trust to identify shared goals and outcomes, facilitate working together to share resources and act on agreed priorities. You will have a focus on engaging with Iwi and Māori, as well as community providers, staying connected through trust-based relationships and sharing accountabilities for success, failure, and other changes.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
You may come from a background working in the social/health/education sectors either as a public servant or in an NGO setting. A relevant tertiary qualification or suitable experience is preferred, an ability to work with ambiguity and move quickly in a dynamic environment. To meet legislative requirements, a working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children are important. Knowledge of and experience in collaborative leadership, collective impact, coordination, and facilitation would be useful. Having existing strong collaborative working relationships across a range of sectors - funders, Iwi, Hapū, whānau, delivery organisations, others in the community with resources and expertise to contribute - would be an advantage.

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $83,794.50 and $93,105.00 dependent on experience.
