Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The Clinical Engineering Service (CE) at Auckland DHB is responsible for the management and maintenance of clinical equipment for our hospitals. We are the first point of call for any issues with medical devices within Auckland DHB.

We are currently receiving expression of interest from electro mechanical minded persons who would like to get involved in Hospital Bed and other mechanical equipment maintenance in a permanent, full time Technician Assistant position.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday. The position is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital, with occasional travel to other local centres.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As an ideal candidate, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Mechanically minded and customer focused
  • Excellence communication skills with the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to learn and be adaptable
  • Basic computer literacy

Desired but not essential skills are:

  • Understanding of electronics and great ability to fault find
  • Experience in Hospital or Healthcare environments
  • EWR Electrical Appliance Serviceperson registration
  • Trade qualification in either mechanical engineering, automotive, fitting and turning
  • 3 years + experience in a Mechanical environment
  • Preventative maintenance checks and breakdown maintenance within a manufacturing environment
