Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role
This 0.6 FTE, three days a week permanent Distict Nurse position would suit an experienced RN who would like to use your skills and knowledge with more autonomy, we have a position for you in our Kenepuru District Nurse team.
District nursing (DN's) is a multi-faceted role which is evolving quickly and we need compassionate and dynamic RN to join our supportive Kenepuru district nurse team.
District Nurses have access to regular in-service training, study days and associated post-registration academic study through local institutions. The District Nurses directly contribute to service development through regular team and Service Improvement Group (SIG) meetings.
If you have previous community nursing experience or a background in palliative care/medical/wound care we would like to hear from you. We would also be delighted to hear from nurses from other backgrounds, as we provide a solid orientation period. Police vetting is required if not currently employed by C&CDHB.
The position is rostered and rotating, morning shift is 8am to 16.30pm and afternoon shift is 1.30pm to 22.00pm.
Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team
District nurses support the discharge of patients from hospital health service (HSS) into the Kenepuru community setting, and supports GP practice community patients. The core requirements of the role is to be working in a community setting with patients receiving home intervention such as intra venous therapy, palliative care, wound care, compression bandaging, Doppler assessment, medication management, stoma care, incontinence care and respiratory care, home oxygen therapy. The district nurses work with Community Health and Health Care Assistants (HCA's) team, assessing patients who require home personal cares and then handing over the patient care to the HCA's.
Moū ' About you
This position would suit an experienced RN with a background in community, primary health or medical nursing, who would like to work in an autonomous role, specialist role that is based in the secondary health sector.
