We are looking for a visionary and forward thinking Social Worker - Advanced Clinician to work with us to improve equity and improve health outcomes for Maaori and all cultures across the Southside Adult community mental health teams, (located in Manukau – Papakura and Franklin).
This is a newly established position within Counties Manukau District, where you will have the opportunity to work in conjunction with managers and professional leaders. You will support high standards of clinical practice and service planning / development by providing clinical leadership within a team or service area. In your role you will also assist in developing the clinical capability of others, take a lead in setting standards, quality assurance and improvement and research activities relevant to the area of expertise.
This designated role is responsible for providing a high standard of comprehensive Social Work services to tangata whaiora, their families / whaanau and the community. The Advanced Clinician role is a designated role that utilises advanced knowledge, clinical expertise and competencies to coordinate, deliver and support professional services in one or more specialist areas. The role provides specialist consultation and advice to tangata whaiora and other clinicians.
The successful candidate must be able to provide this service in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner, in accordance with designated Social Work standards of practice, organisational policy, National Mental Health Standards and underpinned by the principles in Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The ability to provide culturally appropriate specialised assessment and intervention for Maaori is a prerequisite.
We are seeking a Social Worker with a current annual practicing certificate and a minimum of 6 years’ experience working as a social worker in mental health and addiction services. A thorough knowledge of Counties Manukau community resources and networks is essential. Experience with leading and supporting quality improvement and Clinical teaching and coaching would be advantageous.

- SWRB registration
- Current Annual Practising Certificate
- At least six years’ experience as a Mental Health Social Worker
- Full clean driver’s license
