Location: Wellington Hospital
Contract: Full & part-time positions available. Monday - Friday (22-40 hours per week, including flexible working hours). Please state on your cover letter what hours you are seeking.
We have 2.55 FTE Positions Available: Senior Diagnostic Genetic Scientist (1.0 FTE Molecular) and Diagnostic Genetic Scientists (1.55 FTE)
Salary: PSA Allied Health Technical and Scientific (salary dependant on experience - unlikely to exceed $94,266 on first appointment)

An exciting opportunity exists for experienced, professional and highly motivated genetic scientists to join our progressive laboratory. Wellington Regional Genetics Laboratory (www.wellingtongenetics.co.nz) is a busy diagnostic laboratory providing an extensive range of genetic tests and has established links to other services; to ensure a high standard of service. Key service prioritises include the application of next generation sequencing technologies, expansion of our molecular oncology service and supporting the increased workload across all areas of the laboratory.
We invite applications from diagnostic genetic scientists with experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory. You must be a NZ registered Medical Laboratory Scientist or eligible for registration (www.mscouncil.org.nz). Starting salary will be dependent on your level of experience and qualifications. The positions are permanent and both full-time and part-time options will be considered. We are also willing consider a minimum twelve month fixed term posts for suitable candidates who are unsure about permanent relocation.

Wellington Regional Genetics Laboratory (WRGL), a team of 25 staff (administrators, technicians and scientists), is an integrated cytogenetic and molecular genetic service; karyotype, FISH, microarrays and DNA testing of prenatal, postnatal and malignancy samples (www.wellingtongenetics.co.nz ).
Our aim is to ensure operations, products, advice and services meet the requirements of both internal and external clients thereby providing a timely, appropriate and high quality clinical laboratory service. This laboratory complies with or exceeds all accepted standards as embodied in IANZ Registration Criteria and the International Standard NZS/ISO 15189:2012.
