Salary will depend on placement on PSA Allied, Public Health & Technical MECA (between Step 1 $58,513 – 8 $85,204)
Are you interested in working in a community mental health & addictions team, specifically developed to meet the needs of the Manurewa / Papakura locality.
This is an excellent opportunity for all social workers to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team that serve the mental health needs for adults living in the Manurewa / Papakura area.
We are a community-based team that provide specialist mental health care for those with serious mental health disabilities, consultation and liaison with primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns. We work with our NGO partners to ensure that our whaiora and whanau receive equitable and quality services.
This position is responsible for providing service user and whaanau centred safe, effective outcomes focused social work service within an interdisciplinary team setting either in a specific clinical service or across different services. You will provide social work services to individuals, their families/whanau and the community. These include ongoing psychosocial assessments, treatments and support interventions to a designed caseload of service users.
The successful candidate must be able to provide this service in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner, in accordance with designated Social Work standards of practice, organisational policy, National Mental Health Standards and underpinned by the principles in Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The ability to provide culturally appropriate specialised assessment and intervention for Maaori is a prerequisite.
We are seeking a Social Worker with a current annual practicing certificate and experience working as a social worker in mental health and addiction services. A thorough knowledge of Counties Manukau community resources and networks is essential.
