Salary: $52,260 - $61,823 (as per PSA Allied Health Scientific and Technical MECA - qualification dependant)
Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role
The sterile sciences department are seeking a professional and team focused registered sterile technician to work in our sterile reprocessing unit and endoscopy reprocessing unit. This is a full time 1.0 FTE /80 hours per fortnight role. The successful applicant will be required to work rostered and rotating shifts with weekends as rostered.

SSD are a team of highly skilled sterile technicians who are proud of the work that they do to. The focus of the work is presenting reprocessed reusable medical devices for use in our operating theatres for patients undergoing elective and acute surgery and endoscopic procedures. Sterile technicians are a professional group who are members of the Allied Health Scientific and Technical workforce at HVDHB.
The SSD operates seven days per week from 07.00am to 23.00pm.
Moū ' About you
The ideal candidate shall hold as a minimum the certificate in Sterilising Technology Level 4 or equivalent and ideally hold GENCA Endoscopy qualifications. However full training can be given in Endoscopy requirements.
Consideration may be given to candidates with relevant health experience, or recent school leavers or others who are passionate about seeking a career in the health environment. Within two (2) years of employment trainees shall be require to have completed the level 4 certificate in Sterilising Technology via distance learning through Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, Rotorua. Fees for the course will be included in the position for trainees.
Applicants must be fit and healthy as some heavy lifting may be involved.
