The Mental Health and Addiction Services at Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Far North General Adult team. This is a permanent, full-time position (1.0 FTE)
Based in rural Kaitaia Northland, this position provides general adult community based clinical care across the Far North region and would be ideal for those with a strong interest in rural psychiatry and broad skills in general adult mental health. Working in partnership with the wider health; social and community sectors, you will join an innovative multidisciplinary team and contribute to an integrated model of service delivery in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in either a vocational or locum tenens – special purpose Psychiatry scope of practice. FRANZCP and / or post graduate qualifications, however happy to hear from those near completion of their studies. If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration. Northland District Health Board is also an Approved Accredited Employer by New Zealand Immigration.
