Mō te tūnga | About the role
Ward BG (Older Person Mental Health), is a 20 bed
assessment, treatment and rehabilitation ward with an organic psychiatric
focus. The team provides comprehensive assessment of the mental and physical
health of older people, whilst aiming to optimise the patient's level of
functioning, offering specialist treatment, care, support and education.
There are opportunities available for a Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join the team at the Burwood Hospital. A rewarding role, working with
consumers experiencing progressive dementia, acute delirium, as well as
depression, anxiety, paranoia and general behavioural problems associated with

In order to be successful in this role you will:
- Have 2 ' 4 years' experience as a registered nurse preferably in Specialist Mental Health Services
- Hold registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, with mental health scope and current APC
- Be a confident practitioner with good patient assessment skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide variety of people
- Experience working in Mental Health
