Through our organisational strategy Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga, The Cloak of Stewardship, we're on a multi-year journey to bring together our aroha, work and skills to ensure we can operate more strongly as stewards of the maritime domain.
International shipping is vital for New Zealand as a trading nation. New Zealand has committed to an internationally consistent regulatory system for ships joining international conventions covering safety, security and environmental protection. It is therefore essential that New Zealand is actively engaged in the development and maintenance of international regulation.
About the role:
We are looking for a switched on all-rounder with the confidence and capability to drive systems and processes that help us deliver on international commitments. You'll support the Chief of International Engagement and wider team to provide administrative and project support while building strong relationships and networks across the organisation that set the groundwork for effective planning and reporting cycles that support the needs of our international commitments. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
You'll ensure the smooth running of day to day operations ranging from leading small projects, project coordination, administration, event and team management and networking and relationships management.
Ideally you will have:
- Good level of administration experience;
- Strong experience using MS Office products and systems;
- Experience in the public sector preferred;
- Ability to identify and implement process improvement;
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build strong working relationships;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Well-developed organisational skills;
- Flexibility and adaptability.
