Mō te tūnga | The role
In your role as General Manager - Social and Population Insights you will be accountable for leading the Social and Population Insights branch utilising a collective leadership approach.
A collective leadership approach acknowledges the interconnected nature of our official statistics portfolio both conceptually and practically and it also recognises the need to collaborate and work with and through others to achieve our outcomes and deliver quality outputs.
You will need to create a high-performance culture, collaborate with your peers across the organisation whilst fostering long-term relationships with key external networks to deliver value - for customers, and with Māori, iwi and hapū.

In this role you will be leading a team of capable Senior Managers and working through them and their technical experts to deliver a coherent and relevant portfolio of market sensitive and high profile statistics. Therefore, your skill set will balance both your personal attributes and leadership experience to:

This is a role based in the Wellington office and reports directly to the Deputy Government Statistician/Deputy Chief Executive Insights and Statistics in the Insights and Statistics group.
