Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We have permanent and fixed term Team Administrator/Development Support Officer positions available within our Pacific and Development Group.
These positions can be either full time (37.5 hours per week) or part time (minimum of 20 hours per week).
For both the full and part time roles we are happy to discuss flexible work hours and regular work from home days to fit in with your availability.
These are roles where you will have the opportunity to grow, evolve, learn new skills and do work that matters.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Business Services you will be responsible for providing a range of administrative and business support services to the managers and professional staff within the Pacific and Development Group.
These exciting and varied roles will see you involved in a wide range of customer service and administrative tasks including:
- financial administration
- information and database management
- contact support
- travel and event coordination
- diary management and meeting coordination
- arranging transfers to our High Commissions and Embassies

The appointment range is $55,913 to $71,444 total remuneration including employer contribution to Kiwisaver – negotiable depending on experience.
Please note: This is not a Foreign Policy/diplomatic role. This is a ‘Corporate’ role (known here as a Specialist role) based in central Wellington, NZ.
While it is not usual for specialist staff to be ‘posted’ outside of NZ, from time to time a specialist role overseas becomes available at one of our embassies, high commissions, missions or consulates. We would love to hear from you if you are an experienced administrator with the following:
- Experience providing administrative support and customer services
- The ability to work with a range of software applications and administrative and financial corporate data systems, including word processing, databases, electronic file management systems and presentations.
- The ability to juggle tasks with numerous stakeholders and competing priorities with a calm and friendly approach.
We're not all about the technical skills though. Your attention to detail, initiative, pro-activeness, problem solving skills, motivation and focus with the ability to deliver to customer deliverables in a fast-paced environment will be key in our team!
