Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Manager to lead and work as part of our small multi skilled team providing sterile services to Te Whatu Ora Wairarapa.  The team is based at Wairarapa Hospital in Masterton.

You will be responsible for effectively leading the day to day functions of the sterile services department and other areas within Te Whatu Ora - Wairarapa where reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices occur.  This includes staff, equipment, resources, budget and processes to enable the provision of a high standard of patient care and the efficient and effective running of the service.

You will provide operational leadership to the Sterile Services team, working as an integral part of the Perioperative Service, and have collaborative working relationships with wider hospital multi-disciplinary teams in relation to Reusable Medical Device (RMD) reprocessing.  The Sterile Services Manager role works closely alongside the Professional Leader SSD.

This is a permanent full time position, working 80 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday.

Moū - About you

You will be an NZ Sterile Services Association Certificated Sterile Technician with an Advanced Certificate in Sterilising Technology Level 5 (or working towards this) and have an in depth knowledge of quality standards.  It is essential that you have at least 5 years' experience, including time worked in a healthcare delivery environment.  You will be able to demonstrate your skills as a leader and manager of people, including service design, budget management and change processes.
