The purpose of this role is to work with local communities to promote
health, prevent disease and maintain wellness as well as work in partnership to
assist and support families and whānau towards self-reliance in health.
Public Health Nursing is recognised by the Government (Ministry of
Health) and the Public Health Association as being integral in the interface
between preschools, schools, homes, social agencies, general practice, and
other health care providers in the wider community.
This is a permanent, part-time position (up to 0.9FTE/ 72 hours per fortnight). Our usual hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00AM to 4.30PM (flexible).

You will be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current NZNC practicing
certificate. You will be a
great team player passionate
about community delivery and the health and wellbeing of our population. You
will have outstanding interpersonal skills, be highly motivated and have strong community nursing skills and a high
degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
It is preferable that you have an Authorised
Independent Vaccinators Certificate and are trained at delivering B4School checks but this
is not essential. The ability to work autonomously with complex families
and be committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving
equity are essential.
