This is an exciting opportunity to work in a combined physiotherapy role. It is a fulltime, permanent position based 20hours a week in the musculoskeletal outpatient team and 20hours a week in the pain management team.
As part of the pain management team you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team that helps people with chronic pain improve function and participation in valued activities despite pain. You will provide group and individual physiotherapy assessments in person and via telehealth and be a keyworker to coordinate services.
The musculoskeletal outpatient team works closely with orthopaedics, hand therapy, pain management services and primary care. The service provides assessment and treatment to patients/clients referred under ACC and Ministry of Health contracts.

This position compliments a highly skilled allied health team at Hutt Hospital that provides an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for people with persistent/chronic pain. The team of physiotherapist, OT, clinical psychologists and medical specialists work alongside the tertiary pain management service at Capital Coast to help people live well with pain. The Team delivers community pain services also specifically for ACC and has access to excellent gym facilities.
Based in the hospital and primary care, the physiotherapist in this role also works with outpatients referred for physiotherapy intervention to treat and manage musculoskeletal presentations. They work as a member of a team providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, education and rehabilitation to patients/clients.
Moū ' About you
We are looking for a physiotherapist with experience and an interest in pain management and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
The physiotherapist in this role will develop in-depth knowledge of physical conditioning and approaches to the restoration of physical function in the presence of persistent pain. An awareness of rehabilitation theory, management of musculoskeletal issues, the ability to motivate patients to successfully self manage, along with up to date knowledge of pain management theory are desirable.
Role Requirements are:
NZ Registered Physiotherapist with current annual practising certificate
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams
Effective time management and organisational skills
