We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Kidz First Centre for Youth Health.
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
0.8 FTE Permanent Role
Kidz First Centre for Youth Health is a team of health professionals who provide advice and support for young people, along with their whaanau.
Our team includes nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologist, and occupational therapists.
We provide support to young people aged 12 – 24 years, who experience complicated health and youth development concerns that have a significant impact on their lives. We also provide care to young people who have chronic health conditions, developmental concerns, psychosomatic health issues, high-risk health behaviours and gender diverse and transgender health care.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join the team at the Kidz First Centre for Youth Health service. This position is a senior nursing practice role that is responsible for providing specialist nursing expertise in the Specialist Adolescent Clinics, Alternative Education Facilities, and Specialist Adolescent Transgender Clinics. The position will provide nursing leadership and role model youth development within a nursing framework.
The CNS contributes clinical expertise for the development, maintenance and review of quality activities which include policies, procedures, and wider initiatives in Kidz First and across services.
As a CNS you will require drive and determination and the ability to work independently in an ever-changing environment. Your commitment to learning facilitation will ensure that you are able to provide innovative and high-quality learning solutions across the team members of the Youth Health Specialist Team and Kidz First Division.
Your demonstrated teaching ability, leadership skills, passion and commitment are pivotal to this role where communication and motivation are key.
You will be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a youth health setting.
- New Zealand Registered Nurse
- Current annual practicing certificate
- Relevant Post Graduate Qualification
- A minimum of five years in a youth health setting
- Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Clean, full drivers licence
