Are you looking for an opportunity to join an award-winning communications team where no two days are the same? As a senior member of Te Manu Karere, the DIA Communications team, you'll be a trusted advisor to leaders across the department, providing internal and external communications & engagement expertise to support the work of Te Tari Taiwhenua, with a particular focus on the work of our Digital Public Services branch.
You will have:
- Experience in senior communication and engagement roles, including in the public sector
- Experience of planning and delivering PR and communications, working with subject matter experts and other communications colleagues
- Experience in working with media on proactive and reactive matters
- The confidence to provide robust advice to senior leaders
- A highly developed risk radar
- A knack for building positive working relationships
- The ability to work well under pressure and juggle several tasks at once while maintaining a professional demeanour and delivering to deadlines
- A passion for plain English, with the ability to write excellent copy for a range of audiences and channels
- An aptitude for mentoring emerging team members
- The desire to be part of a high-performing team.
