0.5 FTE Youth Forensic Liaison Team:

 

Our Youth Forensic Liaison Team (YFT) provides specialist consultation liaison and brief intervention; engaging with a range of agencies working together to assist young people and families who struggle with complex circumstances such as trauma, poor mental health and who are caught up in the justice system. Our (YFT)  also provides specialist consultation liaison to both of our Counties CAMHS teams.

 

Our Enhanced  Youth Forensic  team is seeking a CAMHS Psychiatrist who is  passionate about working in this this field and  preferably   have some forensic speciality training and or experience. Our multi-disciplinary, Youth Forensic is part of our Specialist District Wide Mental Health and Addiction Services and is a dedicated “spoke” that forms part of the Regional Youth Forensic Hub.

 

 

0.2 FTE Inter Agency Behavioural Service:

 

Interagency Behavioural Service  for children 4 - 8 years, who have severe behavioural problems associated with conduct disorder. This pathway is facilitated in partnership with the Ministry of Special Education Learning and Development Team. The primary function of the CAMHS Psychiatrist is providing diagnostic assessment and treatment recommendations. The role interfaces with Inter-agency Behaviour Team (IBT) Clinicians and the Learning and Development team, working together with family/whanau to enable a support plan for at-risk family/whanau. There is a special focus on the parenting, education and health supports. 

 

You will be working alongside other Psychiatrists from a range of other multidisciplinary teams including Registered Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers. All Senior Medical Officers are encouraged to engage in professional development, to participate in clinical audits, supervision, training and education of other health professionals.

 

 

Applicants must hold or be eligible for vocational registration in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand. 

 

 

Essential:

  • Vocational Registration with the MCNZ as a Consultant Psychiatrist
  • Experience in and ability to develop therapeutic relationships with caregivers and children
  • Ability to work in a diverse community
