Counties Manukau District is looking for an Occupational Therapist interested in rehabilitation…….

 

We have an upcoming opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in rehabilitation to join our inpatient Assessment Treatment & Rehabilitation services based at Middlemore Hospital.

 

If you enjoy variety, new challenges, working in a multicultural setting and being part of an interdisciplinary team then this is the job for you. Working within the AT&R service you will be a key member of the inter-disciplinary team, using your expertise to provide occupationally focused assessments and interventions based on meaningful occupations for older adult clients requiring rehabilitation including orthopaedic, neurological, general medical and surgical conditions. CMH is committed to enabling our patients to be self-managers and you will be supported to work collaboratively with patients, carers and other health care professionals. There is scope for service development and implementing projects which will improve the care of your patients. 
 

The role involves working autonomously and as part of an inter-disciplinary team. CMH fully supports ongoing education and development of all employees including regular supervision and weekly in-services.

Essential:
• NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate
• Minimum 1 year Occupational Therapy experience in a physical health or community setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
• Full current NZ driver's license

 

Desired:
• Experience working in rehabilitation
• Accessible accreditation in wheelchairs and seating
• Experience supervising students and junior staff
