CONTRACT: Full time, permanent position

SALARY: Hauora Tairāwhiti Support Services Collective Employment Agreement, Pharmacist Scale ($93,720 - $113,282)

LOCATION: Gisborne Hospital

Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist to join our busy team.

Gisborne Hospital is the base hospital for the wide geographical area, Tairāwhiti, extending up the East Cape of New Zealand.  The region has a population of approximately 48,000 and is well known for its relaxed lifestyle and its beautiful rural and beach environments.

THE ROLE

At Gisborne Hospital our pharmacists are responsible for a range of operational and clinical pharmacy services including (but not limited to) in-patient dispensing, chemotherapy clinical review and dispensing, medication reconciliation, provision of medicines information to patients and staff, participation in multidisciplinary meetings and ward rounds, weekend and on-call roster as well as helping in the training and development of trainees and other staff.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with the multidisciplinary team focusing on medication safety to implement the Health Quality & Safety Commission initiative. We will provide you with exciting work experience and offer you a platform to gain valuable clinical pharmacy knowledge. We are looking for Pharmacists with:

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy recognised in New Zealand
• NZ pharmacist registration and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Proven experience as a Hospital Pharmacist is essential

Overseas pharmacists will be considered if your Bachelor degree in Pharmacy is recognised in New Zealand and you hold a residency visa or work visa.
