We are a Family Mental Health Service based at 7 Springs Road, East Tamaki. Our multidisciplinary service provides clinics onsite and in the community.
This team aims to provide and co-ordinate a consultation and liaison service in partnership with Ministry of Education. This service is for children 4 to 8 years inclusive, with conduct and behaviour problems.
The main task of the psychologist would be to:
- Bring mental health expertise and intervention to a multi-agency team.
- Participating in the development and implementation of multi-agency intervention plans to support children, whanau, carers, and involved professionals.
- Providing consult liaison to MoE, schools, early learning centres, and community services and consultation on existing intervention plans
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and treatment recommendations for children referred to the Inter-agency Behaviour Team.
- Strengthen the provision of behavioural interventions for at-risk children.
The successful candidate will be largely based at our Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, East Tamaki and with have close ties to our local Ministry of Education Botany office. This position will incorporate a liaison role along with other responsibilities as described in the job description.
You will need:
- Expertise (or an interest in developing your skills) in child psychology
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary role
- Able to liaise and build relationships with a wide range of services and professionals
- Ability to work cross culturally
Essential:
- Registration and current APC with the NZPB in a clinical scope
- A minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience
- Full, clean driver’s licence
