Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are a small friendly team of three full-time sonographers with a dedicated Health Care Assistant and Administrator. We work closely with the vascular, diabetic, renal, rheumatology and stroke teams as well as other surgical and medical teams providing high quality diagnostic vascular ultrasound scans and reports.

You will have the opportunity perform the full range of diagnostic vascular ultrasound investigations as well as assisting with varicose vein ablation procedures.

Waikato hospital is a tertiary referral centre for the Waikato district and we are able to provide vascular ultrasound services for a wide range of inpatients and outpatients. The lab is staffed during normal business hours and there is no on-call service. Our lab is equipped with Phillips Epiq, GE Logiq E9 and GE Logic 9 ultrasound machines. The team you will work with are supportive, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering quality care to patients.

The successful applicant will be capable of managing their own workload as well as working within a small team in our busy lab. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of health professionals is essential.

Previous experience in vascular ultrasound and patient care is highly desirable. Further training can be provided for dedicated and motivated individuals.
