Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District
Location: Primarily Hutt Hospital
Service: Fracture Liaison Service
Contract: Permanent, part-time (16 hours per week)
Salary: $60,552 pro rata
Are you an Administrator with initiative and an eye for detail? Would you like to work in a friendly team team making a difference in Injury Prevention?
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Fracture Liaison services (FLS) are designed to reduce the incidence of future injury by offering appropriate assessment, education and interventions to people over the age of 50 years who experience low impact fragility fractures. Interventions are tailored to individuals and may include medications as well as information about osteoporosis and lifestyle measures that can assist bone health and reduce risk of future fractures.
We have commenced implementation of a Fracture Liaison Service in the Hutt Valley/Te Awakairangi and are now looking forward to extending the team across the Wellington, Porirua and Kapiti areas.
This means we are increasing our Administration support and need someone who will work closely with our current part-time Administrator along with the FLS Coordinators, Pharmacist and Clinical Lead. The role is varied, requiring someone with initiative and flexibility. You will be helping to identify people presenting to our services with Fragility fractures, booking clients into FLS Clinics, entering data into the ANZ Fragility Fracture Registry and providing general admin support to the team. There may be the need to work flexible hours from time to time and the role may include some travel within the District.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The Fracture Liaison team is small and friendly with a Pharmacist, a part-time Administrator and a .1 Medical Clinical Leader already employed. We will soon be advertising for two part-time Co-coordinators to be working across the Capital and Coast area. We interface with Emergency Departments, Orthopaedics, Geriatrics, Endocrinology, Rheumatology and Radiology within the hospital, also taking fragility fracture referrals from Primary Health. The administrator in this position will receive solid training and support from existing staff whilst the team as a whole can access day to day collegiality from the large District-wide Community Older Adults service.
Moū - About you
Our Administrators are key members of the team. We need someone with excellent administration skills and attention to detail, who is adaptable, and committed to the success of this service. The 16 hours will be worked across 2-3 days of the week and can be discussed at interview.
