Permanent 1.0 FTE (80 hours per fortnight),

About the role:

LabCare Pathology has a vacancy at Taranaki Base Hospital where we provide a 24 hour a day - 7 days a week Pathology service. 

Applications are invited to fill a permanent, full time (80 hours per fortnight) position as a Medical Laboratory Technician /Trainee position. 

You will become part of a team covering our roster in the disciplines of Microbiology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Science and Specimen services.  

 

About you:

To be successful you require the following:

  • Hold a relevant qualification as Medical Laboratory Technician or completed BSc, (preferred but not essential).
  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council, (preferred but not essential).
  • Laboratory technical skills and scientific knowledge.
  • Phlebotomy experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • An interest in science and healthcare
